Dear readers of Olivia and the Little Way:
In Olivia and the Little Way, ten-year-old Olivia, a modern girl in fifth grade, does a lot of praying to St. Therese, thanks to her grandma, who introduces her to the Little Flower. St. Therese sure helps Olivia with so many of her problems, doesn't she?
There are lots of ways you can talk to St. Therese. Most of the time Olivia talks to her like a good friend. Other people like to pray a formal novena, which is fine too.
Here is a popular novena to St. Therese that you can say, especially when you have something very specific in mind that you would like St. Therese to pray for on your behalf. You can say this for nine days, 24 days (to represent each year of her life), or any time you feel like talking to the Little Flower and don't quite know what to say. She will be happy to hear from you!
O Little Therese of the Child Jesus, please pick for me a rose from the heavenly gardens and send it to me as a message of love. O Little Flower of Jesus, ask God today to grant the favors I now place with confidence in your hands...(this is where you mention exactly what it is that you want St. Therese to pray for you about)...St. Therese, help me to always believe, as you did, in God's great love for me, so that I might imitate your "Little Way" each day. Amen.
