Ah, The joy of humility!

Tomorrow morning at 7:45 a.m. EST, I will be a guest on The Son Rise Morning Show with Brian Patrick (www.sonrisemorningshow.com). We will chat about the joy of humiliation! Ah, only Catholics could find utter joy in this, no? I love it! It is true, though, that in order to ascend higher, we must be humbled. I hope you can listen in tomorrow and learn to find satisfaction and inner peace by learning from life's many humiliations. Enjoy these saints' quotes about humility and humiliation:

What was the life of Christ but a perpetual humiliation? St. Vincent de Paul

Humility is to the various virtues what the chain is in a Rosary. Take away the chain and the beads are scattered; remove humility, and all virtues vanish.St. John Vianney

“Don’t think that to follow the path of love means to follow the path of rest, full of sweetness and consolations. It is completely the opposite. To offer oneself as a victim to Love means to give oneself up without any reservations to whatever God pleases, which means to expect to share with Jesus his humiliations, his chalice of bitterness.”
- Saint Therese of Lisieux
...he who believes himself to be a Saint is a fool. Genuine saints always look upon themselves as the worst sinners. And when Our Lord grants a favor through their prayers, they credit such favors to this or that Saints, whereas their own faith was largely responsible for them.
St. John Bosco

Purity is the special reward of being humble.
St. John Bosco

Do you wish to rise? Begin by descending. You plan a tower that will pierce the clouds? Lay first the foundation of humility.
St. Augustine

The most powerful weapon to conquer the devil is humility. For, as he does not know at all how to employ it, neither does he know how to defend himself from it.
St. Vincent de Paul
